Introduction

Red Messiah is a board game companion app developed for use with the Red Messiah physical board game. This privacy policy explains how the app handles user information.

Information We Collect

Camera Access

The app requests camera permission solely to scan QR codes printed on physical game cards. Camera data is processed locally in real time and is never recorded, stored, or transmitted.

Player Names

Players enter their names during game setup. These names are held in temporary memory for the duration of the game session and are discarded when the app is closed. They are never saved to the device or sent anywhere.

How We Use Information

All information is used exclusively for local gameplay functionality:

• QR scanning identifies physical game cards so the app can display the corresponding game content.
• Player names are displayed on screen during the game to identify participants.

No data is used for analytics, advertising, profiling, or any purpose beyond the immediate game session.

Data Storage & Security

• The app stores no data persistently on your device. There are no databases, no local files, and no use of device storage APIs.
• The app makes no network requests. It is fully offline and does not communicate with any server.
• All game data exists only in temporary memory and is lost when the app is closed.

Third-Party Services

The app uses no third-party services of any kind. There are no analytics platforms, no ad networks, no crash reporting tools, and no external SDKs that collect data.

Children's Privacy

Because the app collects no personal data, does not connect to the internet, and stores nothing persistently, it does not pose privacy risks specific to children. No special data collection mechanisms exist for users of any age.

Android Permissions

The app may declare the following permissions in its manifest due to the underlying framework (Expo/React Native) defaults:

• CAMERA - Actively used for QR code scanning
• INTERNET - Declared by the framework but not actively used; the app makes no network requests
• AUDIO, STORAGE, VIBRATE - Declared by the framework but not actively used by the app
